Parts and Installation

The Fuzzy Floor Cage Level for the Feisty Ferret Cage consists of:

  • One (1) Fuzzy Floor Cage Level
  • One (1) 29 ½” dowel for the back of the cage*
    •
  • Two (2) 18” dowels for the cage sides*
  • One (1) 13 ½” dowel for the left front of the cage*
    •
  • One (1) short dowel for the support loop on the cage door*
  • One packet containing 4 short dowels to aid in installation

    • *The Basement model has double the amount of dowels

      Your Fuzzy Floor Cage Level may be installed at any height in the cage by resting the loops on top of a horizontal cage bar. (See Picture)

    For easy installation, temporarily secure your Fuzzy Floor to the cage at all 4 corners by using the 4 short installation dowels provided.

    *Basement model installation-start with lower set of web loops

    Begin by putting the Fuzzy Floor inside the cage. Insert a short dowel in the end loop on the long side. At the desired height, turn the dowel vertically so it will go through the cage bars in the second space from the corner. Turn dowel back horizontal so it locks in place against the cage bars. (See Pictures below)


    Note: Placement of the web loops begins in the second space on all sides.

    The permanent dowel for the cage back may now be installed on the outside of the cage. Using the longest dowel, push the short temporary dowel through the securing loop at either end and continue across until the long dowel is threaded through all the loops on that side. Repeat this process for the sides using the two 18” dowels and finish using the 13 ½” dowel on the left front stationary side of the cage.

    The single web loop on the door side is easily released to open door and replaced after door is closed. After the door is closed, through the cage bars, position dowel so that one end is pointed at the cage door.

    Maintenance and Washing Instructions

    The Fuzzy Floor system may be cleaned quickly and easily while it is installed in the cage by vacuuming the surface using the upholstery attachment on a vacuum cleaner. It is natural for the interior lining to shed a little as the floor gets worn in.

    For thorough cleaning, machine wash on cold and dry on low. The materials used are preshrunk although washing on hot or drying on high may cause additional shrinkage making reinstallation harder than necessary. Pocket and Basement models may be pulled inside out for washing although it is not usually necessary. Inserting the vacuum nozzle into the center prior to machine washing is generally sufficient. *

    Acrylic dowels may be safely washed in hot soapy water or sanitized with any pet friendly sanitizer.
